Meet Rob Wensing
What is your name and role?
My name is Rob Wensing and I am Chief Executive Officer at Vitalcare.
How long have you worked with Vitalcare?
I joined Vitalcare in July this year (2021).
Tell us a bit about your background
I have a technical and commercial background from the diagnostic imaging industry, working with companies such as Toshiba, Phillips and Siemens — and later worked for myself in a wireless and wired communication company.
I have always had an interest in the application of exciting new technology in the healthcare industry, I guess that’s what attracted me to this industry, and (it) is why I have spent most of my working life working with new engineering solutions that help people.
What motivates you?
I am really motivated by leading a team of people to work with new technology and deliver exciting new solutions to our clients, and I am especially motivated when I have the opportunity to help people to grow a business and really expand what a business can do, that really excites me.
Describe yourself in three words
I would say I am busy, energetic and pretty active.
And how would you describe Vitalcare in three words?
Innovative, creative and connected.
What does Vitalcare mean to you?
Vitalcare definitely means innovation – if I were to wrap Vitalcare up in a word it would be innovation. We are incredibly focused on developing unique solutions for our clients, and it’s really the centre of everything we do.
What is the culture like at Vitalcare?
We have a great all-inclusive culture at Vitalcare. I love the way everybody in our team has a voice, we really embrace people from very diverse backgrounds. We give everybody the opportunity to contribute towards growing the business and delivering solutions to our clients.
What is the best part of your role?
The best part of my role is the opportunity to develop a team of people. I get great enjoyment out of working with dedicated people to lead our organisation and to deliver the solutions to our clients.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
In my spare time, I love to travel. When we return to normal, or near-normal life, I look forward to travelling with my wife whenever I get the opportunity.
What does Vitalcare offer?
The really exciting thing about what Vitalcare provides its clients is the very latest innovative technology, delivered in a very tailored way for our client’s specific needs. It’s something that I don’t think any of our competitors do, and nobody can deliver what we can deliver in the timeframes we can deliver, to suit their specific needs and requirements.
What is Vitalcare’s vision?
Vitalcare’s vision is to deliver the most innovative care and safety solutions to every human on the planet.
How is Vitalcare involved in the community?
Vitalcare is a very long-term proud supporter of Variety Children’s charity and has worked with that charity over many years.
What is next for Vitalcare in 2022 and beyond?
I think the next five years will be very exciting for Vitalcare. We’ll see the wired and wireless platforms that we’ve just developed form the basis for some exciting new technology that will bring disruptive solutions to the aged care technology sector and bring to the market ideas and solutions that are not currently available from any other provider.
