Fall Detection
Identifies fallen residents using a range of technologies including mmWave radar, and thermal/CCTV vision.
Vitalcare has a range of fall detection solutions in addition to interfacing third-party specialist devices into its platform. While many devices are designed to specifically identify falls, Vitalcare has taken a more holistic multi-sensor approach including elements of resident activity to more broadly identify risks to resident welfare.
Falls prevention is a key objective of the Vitalcare platform and ongoing developments are focussed on identifying behavioural markers as a precursor to a fall. These include poor sleep patterns, reduced physical activity or decreased and inconsistent movement.
A range of technologies and AI driven software is used to identify these characteristics including mmWave radar, passive Infra-red detectors and thermal camera imaging.
It is important to stress that none of Vitalcare’s technology provide any personal identifiable images and protect patients and residents modesty.
Vitalcare provides nurse call platforms and critical messaging technology engineered to improve communication, workflow efficiencies, patient care and safety for hospitals, aged care facilities, home care and allied health across Australia and New Zealand. Key features of the platform include wired, wireless and hybrid infrastructure with voice assistant, RTLS, open API integration, enterprise reporting and tools, and industry-leading software. The entire network infrastructure is modular and scalable with in-built active redundancy.
