Nightingale is a facility productivity application designed to connect carers and managers with patients to improve workflow efficiency. Nightingale delivers nurse call activations along with task requests directly to carers. The application runs on standard non-proprietary smartphone hardware and combines a range of traditional device functions historically only available on pagers or DECT phones with new functionality like task allocation, escalation, resident notes and voice connectivity.
Nightingale provides connectivity to the nurse call system both on-site and off–site supporting Wi-Fi and GSM networks. This is ideal for larger campuses where there is not reliable widespread Wi-Fi, or where only a combination of Wi-Fi and GSM provides cover. Voice connectivity directly to the Vitalcare voice call point is also supported with Nightingale. This feature provides immediately voice connectivity to a residents bedhead voice call point and the ability for carers to triage and prioritise nurse call alarms. This increases personnel efficiency and optimises response priority.
The use of smartphones in health and aged care facilities is growing at a fast rate.
