Out of Bed Alarms
Portable wireless device using infra-red beam to identify movement. Safer and hygienic alternative to floor and bed mats.
Irma is Vitalcare’s portable general purpose movement alarm and ideal for fall prevention by immediately identifying when a resident attempts to leave their bed, chair or room. Primarily designed to replace bed and floor mats but is also ideal for a range of general movement alarm applications.
Irma is a self-contained device that contains a sensor, wireless call point and backup battery. It requires no external cables or connectors and is programmed through the Vitalcare smartphone application.
Irma uses an infra-red sensor that is focused out a small aperture in the front of the device. Should the sensor ‘see’ movement within the configurable beam, it activates a nurse call alarm to pagers, wall displays, smartphones or DECT phones with a customised message such as “Out of bed alarm room 4”.
Vitalcare provides nurse call platforms and critical messaging technology engineered to improve communication, workflow efficiencies, patient care and safety for hospitals, aged care facilities, home care and allied health across Australia and New Zealand. Key features of the platform include wired, wireless and hybrid infrastructure with voice assistant, RTLS, open API integration, enterprise reporting and tools, and industry-leading software. The entire network infrastructure is modular and scalable with in-built active redundancy.
