RTLS provides the ability to track and locate people and equipment in a facility. Typical applications include locating critical equipment, keeping residents with cognitive impairment from entering dangerous places, and providing a location on duress alarm activation.
Vitalcare RTLS uses low power Bluetooth signals from devices such as pendants, wrist alarms, tags and duress cards to identify location. RTLS signals are received by standard Vitalcare call points and therefore no additional infrastructure is required. This reduces the cost of the system implementation and provides a tightly integrated solution for nurse call alarms, reporting and integration into other systems such as access control.
Vitalcare’s RTLS function tracks wireless tags, pendants, wrist alarms and duress cards around a facility in real-time. This information can be used to locate equipment or personnel and record Care Minutes for statutory compliance. When integrated into access control systems, RTLS can also be used to manage resident access to areas by locking or unlocking doors on their approach and reporting resident location as a nurse call alarm. RTLS is widely used in conjunction with duress devices.
